CustomsNow™ provides visibility to ALL In-bond Status Notifications

An in-bond entry is required when cargo transits to another port for entry, transits the U.S. destined to another country, or is immediately exported. There are three types:

  • Immediate Transportation (IT) entries (type 61)
  • Transportation & Exportation (T&E) entries (type 62), or
  • Immediate Exportation (IE) entries (type 63).

In-bond Entry

Control your in-bond entries!

No more trips to the local Customs port, and no more guessing on the status of the in-bond entry.

With the CustomsNow™ In-bond Entry Solution, combined with our ACE Cargo Query System, parties can create, update or even arrive in-bond entries, or simply gain visibility to the status of an in-bond movement.

Any customs broker, carrier or importer with a filer code, SCAC carrier code or importer number (IRS number) can submit and update an in-bond entry electronically. Plus, any party with access to the in-bond number can gain visibility to the status notifications, regardless of the filer.

You’ll see In-bond status notifications such as “Accepted” to allow for movement, “Arrived” when it reaches the final port of clearance or export, and “Exported” once the in-bond shipment has left the U.S.

Create an In-bond (IT, IE or T&E)

Filers, such as importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and warehouses can quickly create an in-bond entry (IT, IE or T&E) with CustomsNow™. The in-bond is transmitted to CBP via ABI (direct MQ line) electronic approval is received within seconds. Filers are able to track the movement and eventual closing of the in-bond through various CBP status messages returned via ABI.

Arrive an In-bond

Companies who are the recipients of cargo sent in-bond, or whose bond may have been obligated in an in-bond movement, such as freight forwarders, bonded warehouses, and others, are able to electronically “receive” the in-bond, This closes out the in-bond with CBP, releasing the liability on their bond.

Today, many of these companies are managing this process very manually: delivering paperwork to the local Customs port for CBP signature. This closes out the in-bond entry with access to CustomsNow™’s ABI system, an in-bond can be closed out in seconds.

Query In-bond

Parties whose bond is activated by the creation of an in-bond entry require visibility to these transactions. With CustomsNow™, truckers and warehouses can easily run an ACE query to confirm that current status of an in-bond regardless of who was the original filer of the in-bond. Truckers: If you have been turned away by CBP at a port of export, you can now confirm that a valid in-bond is on file PRIOR to picking up a shipment and heading to the border. This will provide tremendous savings in time and money spent wasted waiting around at the port.

QP/WP is CBP’s Automated Broker Interface (ABI) module that allows brokers, carriers, or importers to input in-bond movement data and notify CBP of the arrival or closure of the movement.

Today, many parties involved in the in-bond movement of cargo do not have the necessary visibility to the Customs’ status of the goods. But that doesn’t have to be the case. With CustomsNow™’s In-bond Entry Solution, you can quickly and easily manage and monitor in-bond cargo.
